Complexity of Complex Systems –Wikipedia’s new decision to put editorial staff is not the sign that Wikipedia is turning away from its core principles – It is taking this site to the next level of crowd sourced based complex dynamical system
This is not a step towards making Wikipedia CNN iReport.com. Read on why not:
There is a huge uproar on the internet that Wikipedia’a recent decision to put editorial staff to check for accuracy of entries is taking the crowd sourced darling away from its moral principles. And while people are debating on both sides vehemently, I feel everybody is missing a fundamental point. This is neither good nor bad but a natural evolution of a complex system and its continuous evolution to next level of complexity.
In any complex dynamical system – a system that feeds on itself and uses its previous state to evolve to next level in time there are certain discernible patterns that all investigators of complex systems have come to love. These include hierarchy of similar behavior performed layer after layer – this pattern is familiar in to a lay person in the form of Mandelbrot set – a mathematical geometrical construction that consists of its own copy deeper you look into it.
While Wikipedia's recent decision may have come as a result of Vandalism, I believe Wikipedia’s recent change will upgrade its quality by making the crowd sourcing more complex and thus adding more living and breathing value to the whole eco system. This will not take it away from its values but will bring it closer and will evlove its values to the next level. You may ask how? And the answer lies in the editor selection process. Instead of the content people will now correct the editors and volunteers who have elected to be editors and that will evolve into making better editors who will make the contributors even more conscientious while maintaining the value of crowd sourcing now also adding value at the editorial and people development level.

I get it!
I have been trying to figure out whether internet trafficing is slowly veering towards a level of complexity where new regulations may seem to violate net neutrality, but may or may not.. What do you think? Does this argument apply?

Ghazanfar: I am not sure if I got your question...would you elaborate?
